In most environments, Intella operates without requiring any special antivirus (AV) exclusions. However, some antivirus solutions may interfere with Intella processes such as indexing or case handling, depending on the AV software in use, how the AV software is configured, and the type of evidence being processed.
As a result, we are unable to provide universal recommendations that will apply to every environment. However, this article provides guidance on identifying potential AV interference and lists example exclusions that have proven helpful in controlled testing environments.
Important Note: Vound cannot take responsibility for the outcome of any AV configuration changes made on your system.
We strongly recommend involving your security team before making any AV configuration changes.
If your AV software is interfering, you may see similar errors during indexing:
Unknown error. Details: Unable to complete IPC request 'GetCaseOperationStatisticsRequest' for process handling case with id '<case ID>'.
The following exclusions have resolved AV interference in our own testing environment and are shared purely as a reference point. Below you can find a list of folders and paths to the allow list. It may help prevent crawler processes from being interrupted by antivirus software:
1) Intella Pro, Investigator, Connect, Node, and W4 application folder(s)
(e.g., C:\Program Files\Vound\[Intella product], or your custom installation path)
2) Evidence data folders
(where your evidence files are stored)
3) Case data folders
(where your case files are stored)
4) HASP License Manager
(C:\WINDOWS\system32\hasplms.exe)
