Question
Do Intella and Connect work in a virtual machine?
Answer
Yes, these products can work in virtual environments. Please note the following:
- We recommend to use a network dongle (a red dongle). Network dongles are designed to work over the network and from VM clients to the physical host. Standard dongles (the green dongle) can be used, however you will need to configure the virtual machine where Intella is installed to access the dongle on the physical host. Vound can not provide advise or support for configuring a standard dongle in a virtual environment. Contact your Vound Sales Representative for more information on network dongles.
- There is a limitation with Hyper-V where it cannot pass through non-disk USB devices such as the HASP dongle that we use for licensing. That said, there are some workarounds listed in this post:
- Not that the Intella trial does not work in a virtual machine. A trial will need to be installed on a physical machine and it is limited to 10GB cases.
