- Download installer from https://www.vound-software.com/software-downloads
- Start
the Installer
- Click
Next
- Agree
to the License Agreement
- Choose typical or custom installation. If you choose
typical, it wil install both Investigator and Node to C:\Program
Files\Vound\Intella Investigator 2.6. If you wish to install in a different
location or Install only Investigator/Node, please choose “Custom”
installation. (Note: Intella Node is required to be able to Index
sources in cases via Intella Investigator. Please refer to the product User
Manuals for more information).
- If you Chose Custom installation, this next screen
will ask you which products would you like to Install. If you have no other
instance of Node, please choose both and click Next.
- You will now have to specify the path that you wish
for the products to be Installed on.
- You will now need to provide the service account
credentials (Instructions on how to create a valid service account can be found
here: https://support.vound-software.com/help/en-us/8-installation/99-creating-a-service-account-in-windows) If you do not have a
service account and are unable to create one, please untick the option to
install as a service.
- Once the valid credentials are entered, please click
on Next.
- Choose the start menu shortcuts path and click on
Next.
- The Installation process has started. Please bear with
it until it finishes.
- After the Installation completes, a Welcome webpage
with Setup steps to help you get started. Once you click on the Login button,
it will open a new browser window with the login screen to Intella Investigator
where you need to type in your credentials do the Admin Dashboard. (Default
credentials are Login: admin; Password: admin)
- Please note, if Intella is Installed as a service, it
will be installed under a separate user (as the service account) which means
that all configurations and cases from Team Manager will not be available. In
order to import the old cases, in the Admin Dashboard, you need to go to the
“Import” tab.
- Here, you can specify the path where the case is
located and click on Add Case.
- This case will now be available on the “List” tab.
- Due to the
case being created with a 2.5.x version of Intella, it will require Conversion.
To do that, you need to click on the “Convert Case” button.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Please make sure that Intella Node service or application (depending on the installation options you chose) is running. Intella Node is required for the conversion process.
IMPORTANT NOTE 2: The conversion process can be time consuming depending on the case size. Please make sure adequate downtime window is scheduled as during the process the case will be unavailable to reviewers.
- You will
receive a window advising that this will create a copy of the case (the 2.5
case will still be available for use with older versions of Intella.)
- Clicking on
Yes, will give you a window to specify the Name of the newly created case, the
case folder where the new case will be located and the Node you can use to
convert the case. (If you installed the application as a service, the Node
should already be available on the dropdown menu, if you have not installed as
a service, you need to start the IntellaNode.exe application from the
Investigator installation path)
- Once you click
on Start Conversion, the process will run in the background.
- When the
conversion process is finished, you will have the “Finish case conversion”
button available.
- Intella will
then ask you if you wish to add the case to the list, to which you should
answer “yes”
- The case will
then be made available on the list.
- After setting
up the user accounts (please review the User Manual section going into this
with details - https://www.vound-software.com/docs/investigator/2.6.1/Intella%20Investigator%20Administrator%20Manual.html#_user_management) and granting user access to the case (https://www.vound-software.com/docs/investigator/2.6.1/Intella%20Investigator%20Administrator%20Manual.html#_granting_case_access_to_users) You will be able to click on the “Share” button
which will make the Case URL clickable. After clicking it, you will be taken to
a new browser window where the case is located.
