Collecting your dongle information
Your dongle contains important information that we may need in order to troubleshoot issues or create licenses for your dongle. If you have been asked to provide this information (known as extracting a C2V file), please use one of the following methods to extract a C2V file from your dongle.
Do you have an SL key, not a dongle? Refer to this article instead, for instructions on extracting a C2V file for an SL key:

Before we get started, make sure to complete these tasks:
-
Ensure that the latest version of Intella or Connect is installed on your system.
- For new customers, you should have received a flash drive containing a text file called "Intella installers.txt". This file has a direct link to download the latest version of the software. Note thatthis USB is different from your dongle; it's a green and white USB with the words "Intella", and has storage capability. Dongles are one solid color (red, green, or purple), does not have the word "Intella" written on it, and is not capable of having regular user files written to it.- For existing users, you can download the latest version from our website: https://www.vound-software.com/software-downloads. - After installing your Intella product, plug your dongle into an available USB port and wait for the light on the dongle to come on. This indicates that the dongle hardware drivers have successfully been installed to Windows. Next, follow one of the methods below to extract the C2V file.
Method 1
This method is typically the easiest way to extract a C2V file. Try this method before using Method 2.
- Navigate to the Intella installation folder. By default, the Intella installation folder is located at: C:\Program Files\Vound\[Your Intella Product].
- Run "Dongle Manager.exe".
- Click the "C2V" button.
- Save the C2V file onto your computer when prompted, and send the C2V file to the Vound representative who requested it.
Method 2
If Method 1 does not work, try this method.
-
Run "haspupdate.exe". You can find "haspupdate.exe" in the bin directory where Intella or Connect is installed. The default installation directory is "C:\Program Files\Vound\Intella [Your Installed Version Number]\bin"
-
Do the following:
First, select the "Collect Status Information" tab at the top.
Second, select the "Update of Existing Protection Key" option at the bottom.
Finally, click the "Collect Information" button.
- If you have only one dongle plugged in, save the C2V file onto your computer when prompted. Then, send the C2V file to the Vound representative who requested it.
If you have multiple dongles plugged into your system, you will see a screen that shows the available dongles. Select the line for the dongle that has been requested. We commonly use the terms "dongle number" or "dongle ID", which represents the "Key ID" field in the screenshot.
- Save the C2V file onto your computer when prompted. Then, send the C2V file to the Vound representative who requested it.
It is a good idea to record the dongle ID numbers for each dongle you have. You should write the dongle ID on the dongle itself or on the key tag attached to the dongle. This will help make your dongles easily identifiable. Also, you need to enter your dongle ID into the download page to access the installers as only dongles with current Maintenance Agreement (MA) can access the installers.
