How to validate your IBM Notes installation

To index IBM Notes NSF files in Intella, it is necessary to validate the IBM Notes installation on your system. You must be using IBM Notes version 9.0.1 FP8 or higher to validate your installation. Once you have confirmed the version, you can perform the following steps to add the IBM Notes program files directory path to the System PATH variable:

  1. Click the Start button.
  2. Right-click on My Computer and select Properties from the context menu.
  3. In the Properties window, click the Advanced tab.
  4. Click the Environment Variables button.
  5. Scroll down to find the Path variable in the System variables list.
  6. Double-click on Path.
  7. Place the cursor at the end of the Variable value field, type C:\Program Files\IBM\Notes then click OK. Note: This path may differ depending on your system. Check the user manual's Section 32.9 for other commonly used paths for IBM Notes installations. https://www.vound-software.com/docs/intella/2.6.1/#_hclibm_notes
  8. Click OK again to close the Properties window.

To check if the path has been added correctly:

  1. Click the Start button.
  2. Search for cmd.exe and open the command prompt window.
  3. In the command prompt, type notes.exe and press Enter.
  4. If IBM Notes opens successfully, the path has been set up correctly. If not, please check the steps above to ensure that you have done them correctly and that the correct path is listed.

After these steps, verify the IBM Notes installation in the Intella Preferences panel by going to File > Preferences > IBM Notes. Here, a message similar to "IBM Notes installation has been validated" should appear if everything was set up correctly.
