Basic Overview of the Intella Connect system

Introduction

If you are considering purchasing or trialing Intella Connect, it's important to understand its components and how they work together. Intella Connect is a web-based platform designed for enterprises, law enforcement, and regulatory agencies to conduct investigations and eDiscovery.

One of its key features is the ability to share cases made with Intella 100, Intella 250, Intella Professional (Pro), or Intella Investigator. This shared case can be accessed by one or more reviewers through any supported web browser. Reviewers do not require a license dongle or any software installation or download to review cases.

Administrators can also create and index cases directly in Connect. Intella Node, a processing component, can be used to index sources for the case. Administrators manage case creation and indexing, users, roles and permissions, and case sharing.

In summary, Intella Connect is a powerful investigation and eDiscovery tool that allows for easy collaboration and management of cases.

Parts to the Connect system

There are three parts to the Connect system.

The Connect server

The Connect server is the central component of Connect. It allows the administrator to share cases, manage users, configure roles and permissions, and more. SSL can be enabled on the Connect server, and it can also integrate with LDAP. Additionally, the administrator can set up connections to Node indexing systems, enabling the creation of cases and indexing of evidence through the Connect interface.

The Reviewer system
The reviewer system can be any computer with a supported web browser. To access the shared case on the Connect server, the user is provided with a link and login credentials.

The Indexing system

The Indexing system is a distinct entity from the Connect server. It runs Intella Node, which serves as the indexing and processing component of the Connect system.

Installation

It is recommended to install Connect and Node on separate systems to avoid potential performance issues with case indexing and review. The Connect installer file can be used to install both Connect and Node, but they cannot be installed simultaneously. Therefore, two separate installation processes are required.

The Vound support portal provides access to the installer files, release notes, and user/administrator manuals.
